SIOUX FALLS - A Sioux Falls man accused of robbing a bank branch on the city's east side is jailed in Las Vegas.

Johnnie Lee Ballard, 31, was arrested Monday by special agents from the FBI and Las Vegas Police Department, according to the office of U.S. Attorney Marty Jackley.

Ballard is accused in a federal warrant of robbing a Sioux Falls Valley Bank branch on Oct. 1.

The bank was robbed by a man who came into the bank armed with a handgun. It was the third bank robbery in Sioux Falls in less than two months.

Ballard is being in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending extradition proceedings.
