BROOKINGS - Tracy Moore of Brookings has written and directed the film "The Heir in the Window," a number of shorter movies and documentaries, and now, the full-length movie "FUBEE."

Not bad, considering he did it all before the eighth grade.

Moore writes his own scripts, shoots all the footage and does all his editing.

"It's relatively the same process" as a Hollywood movie, Moore said, "without the multi-million-dollar budgets."

Moore spent six months writing the "FUBEE" script and began filming in June. He recruited actors he had used in other productions or had seen in other dramatic projects.

So what was the cast paid? "FUBEE" T-shirts.

"FUBEE" is billed as a mystery/comedy involving the characters Fubee Snopatropalopolis, described as an average klutz, and her cheese-obsessed mother trying to find out who stole $17 million from a local bank.

The final cut will be shown Saturday night at the Brookings Middle School.

Moore said he plans to keep learning about moviemaking and about ways to make his next production better.
