PIERRE - There are seven more cases of human West Nile virus
in South Dakota this week, the state Department of Health reported
on Tuesday.
The total for the year is 46 human cases, plus two that were
found in blood donations. One person has died.
Brown County continues to have the most cases with five.
Last year, the state had 113 human cases and three deaths from
West Nile, which is transmitted to humans through mosquito
bites.
