RAPID CITY - Professional mixed martial artist Josh Rosaaen quickly put to rest any questions there were about the style of fight he and his opponent, Tyler Guisinger, a veteran MMA fighter, would use during their main event battle on Friday at Ring Wars 30.

Rosaaen took control of the fight from the start, taking Guisinger to the mat and, after a few strikes to the head, Rosaaen flipped Guisinger into an arm bar and from there it was just a matter of time before Guisinger was forced to tap out with 4:06 left in the first round.

"I wish we could have fought longer to see what Josh has to offer," said Rosaaen's trainer Josh Usera, "Tyler a tough guy, he just made a bad move rolling into the arm bar, and Josh was able to finish it. Josh performed well, and he's trained hard. It was a good night for him."

In the amateur title fight at Ring Wars 30, Rapid City's Texas Cole successfully defended his super lightweight belt against Damian Blanco, of Scottsbluff, Neb. Cole improved his career record to 11-1 after he won the fight due to an arm bar submission.

Like the main event, the fight didn't make it out of the first round due to Cole's dominance.

"I've been training hard," said Cole. "I'm a new fighter with a way different style. Tonight, I was pounding him in the face and he didn't like getting hit. So he gave me his back and was too worried about strikes that allowed me to put an arm bar on him."

In the welterweight division, Brandon Kills Small, of Oglala, beat Chris Saucedo, of Scottsbluff. Kills Small, who will be competing for a chance to be a contestant on the Ultimate Fighter Challenge later in the year, used his stand-up skills to knock out Saucedo with a hard left with 1:30 left in the first round. The knockout improved Kills Small to 11-4 in his career.

"I didn't know anything about him coming in," said Kills Small, "I knew he was going to come out swinging, and I like to do that, so it worked to my strength."

Other fight winners of Ring Wars 30 were Casey Means, of Pine Ridge, Eric Eagletail, of Rapid City, Brian Davis, of Rapid City, Ryan Holtan, of Sturgis, Bruce Jacobs, of Pine Ridge, L.J. Chasing Hawk, of Winner, Elliot Keller, of Rapid City, and Mario Ramirez, of Gillette.
