Tryouts for the Rapid City Rush dance team, The Rushettes, are at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
The unpaid volunteer dance team is being formed to perform at all 32 regular-season and additional home playoff games of the Central Hockey League expansion franchise, along with various public appearances for team and charity events in the community.
Dance team members are also required to put in two nights per week to practice dance routines.
"Obviously, it's a big time commitment," said Darcy Zandstra, marketing and public relations representative for the Rush. "It should be a lot of fun."
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and are asked to bring a signed application and waiver and a non-returnable photo.
The tryout process will include an interview, two hours to learn an approximately one-minute long dance routine, and performance of the routine.
Applications are available at www.rapidcityrush.com, or at the Rush offices at the team offices at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. 444 Mount Rushmore Road.
