Post 320 wins opener, then drops 2nd game

SPEARFISH - Spearfish and Rapid City Post 320 split an American Legion doubleheader Wednesday evening at Black Hills Power Field.

Stars won the opener 14-1. Spearfish rallied for a 15-14 win in the nightcap that went nine innings.

The Stars tallied four runs each in the first and the fifth innings and added six runs in the fourth inning of the first game. Spearfish countered with a lone run in the fourth inning.

Winning pitcher for Post 320 was Jarrett Jensen. George Ceremuga went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs. August Farrugia was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and one run. Chris Kirkeby collected three hits in four trips to the plate with one RBI and one run.

Kevin Martens was the losing pitcher for Spearfish. Martens was 1-for-2 at the plate. Justin Kemp had three hits in two plate appearances. Ryan

Dustin Wisener's two-run single capped a four-run bottom of the ninth inning handing Spearfish a 15-14 win in the second game.

Kemp led the hitting attack with three hits. Dustin Wisener, Tyler Dutton, Martens and Royer chipped in two hits each.

Winning pitcher was Justin Kemp. Spenser Braun took the pitching setback for Post 320.

Farrugia collected three hits. Chris Kirkeby, Jeremy Kudrna, Levi Merchen, Jensen, Ceremuga and Tyler Oberlander provided two hits each.

Royer added a hit.
