BUFFALO, Wyo. - Newcastle picked up a pair of wins at the East-West Challenge during girls high school basketball action on Saturday.

The Dogies beat Cody 50-25 and then defeated Pinedale 63-36.

Against the Fillies, Emily Gregory had 10 points, and Heidi Beehler had eight points and seven rebounds. Leslie Kopp added eight points and Jess Patton pulled down eight boards.

In the win over the Wranglers, Gregory posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Beehler notched 13 points and eight boards, while Taylor Farella and Kopp tallied 11 points apiece.

Newcastle turned the ball over just 11 times and came up with 12 steals on the defensive end of the floor against Pinedale.

Newcastle (2-1) plays at Wright on Tuesday.
