RAPID CITY - Taylor Houchin scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime as the South Rebels beat the Southwest Hawks, 28-20, in the championship game at the Rapid City Middle School Football Festival on Thursday.
Houchin found the end zone on a 10-yard run and then kicked the point after touchdown. The teams were tied at 20-all at the end of regulation.
Adam Drake had two touchdowns for the Hawks. He scored on runs of 40 and 90 yards.
In the other games, the Douglas Patriots beat the Dakota Nuggets 31-14 and the West Wolves defeated the North Eagles 44-6.
Darryl Henderson led Douglas with two touchdown runs, while Tony Dobbs and Chris Medina each had a rush to paydirt for Dakota.
Cody Benne led West with two TDs. Trent Eddy had a 1-yard scoring run for North.
