Mayville State University bounced back from its loss on Friday night to beat South Dakota School of Mines, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16, in Dakota Athletic Conference volleyball Saturday in Mayville, N.D.
The win was the first of the season for the Comets at home. Mayville State (10-7 overall, 2-4 DAC) played its first 15 games of the 2008 season on the road.
Ashley Nelson led the Comets with 20 digs, while Betsy Winkler had 35 assists to pace MSU.
No statistics were available for the Hardrockers (10-9, 2-4).
Mines returns to action on Wednesday hosting Black Hills State in DAC action.
BHSU 3, DAKOTA STATE 0: Black Hills State remains undefeated in the Dakota Athletic Conference, following the Yellow Jackets' 25-15, 25-14, 25-18 win over Dakota State on Saturday in DAC volleyball in Madison.
The win improves the Yellow Jackets record to 14-5 overall and 6-0 in the DAC.
Kristin Engle had 10 kills and four digs, while Mandy Brumfield handed out 28 assists to lead the Yellow Jackets. Annie Grim had 12 digs and Maggie O'Neill had 11.
BSHU is back in action on Wednesday, traveling to South Dakota School of Mines.
