BELLE FOURCHE - Belle Fourche swept Lead-Deadwood in a Black Hills Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night 25-16, 25-10, 25-21.
Samantha Doolittle led the Broncs with 11 kills, six aces, four blocks and 12 digs while Lauren Stephens had six kills, two aces, a solo and an assisted block for the winners.
"We got after it right away and took care of business," said Belle Fourche head coach Cathy Grubb.
"They have a scrappy team and we did a good job of holding them in check, not letting them get into any kind of rhythm."
Lara Joseph and Sarah Stagner combined for 18 kills while Rachel Stagner had 18 assists to lead the Golddiggers.
Belle Fourche (17-7, 7-3 in BHC) will host BHC foe Custer on Friday afternoon before the football game in the evening.
Lead-Deadwood host Hot Springs on Thursday in a BHC match.
Winner 3, Chamberlain 0
WINNER - Winner swept Chamberlain 25-13, 25-18, 25-12 in a high school volleyball match Tuesday.
Megan Phillips had eight kills and four service aces, and Alex Driscoll added seven kills and four aces for the Warriors.
Kennedy Weiland had a team-high five aces, and Kasey Novotny had 11 set assists and four digs in the win.
Winner (8-12) hosts Red Cloud and Winner (5-12) plays at Crow Creek on Thursday.
St. Thomas More 3, Douglas 0
RAPID CITY - Black Hills Conference-leading St. Thomas More kept its league record unblemished with a sweep of Douglas during high school volleyball action on Tuesday night.
The Cavaliers, who improved to 19-5 overall and 9-0 in the BHC, won by the scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-9.
"It was a great team effort," STM head coach Shelly Wolfe said. "We got our whole roster in tonight, stayed positive and really focused the whole match."
Brittany Kjerstad had 11 kills and five blocks in the win. Amanda Biggs added six kills and Erin Duffy notched three blocks.
Megan Rafferty had a solid all-around match, coming up with 10 set assists, six service aces and five digs. Carrie Maguire added eight digs and Ashley Hrabe had 11 assists.
Hannah Edwards led the Patriot attack with seven kills. Chris Scheler paced the defense with 11 digs, and Brooke Sandmeier and Jordan McCausland had nine and seven assists, respectively.
St. Thomas More plays at Hill City and Douglas (6-14, 4-6 BHC) hosts Newell on Thursday.
Faith 3, Dupree 1
DUPREE - Faith picked up a road win in a Little Moreau Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night as the Lady Longhorns downed Dupree
25-12, 25-18, 11-25 and 25-12.
Brianna Lemmel had 10 kills and three aces, Taylor Shoemaker had five aces and nine assists and Hanna Brown chipped in with 10 kills and a block.
Dupree got a nice matches from Cassandra Watt who had 11 kills and seven blocks and Alex Alspach four aces and three assists.
Faith will host Cheyenne-Eagle Butte and Dupree will take on Lemmon in Thursday LMC games.
Harding County 3, Newell 0
NEWELL - Harding County picked up a sweep over Newell, 25-14, 25-20, 25-18, during high school volleyball action Tuesday.
Jenna Diers led the Irrigators with four kills and Mandi Durch added three.
Newell (10-11) plays at Douglas on Thursday and Harding County (19-6) hosts McIntosh-Isabel on Saturday.
Hot Springs 3, Hill City 0
HILL CITY - Hot Springs picked up a sweep over Hill City, 25-15, 25-22, 25-20, on Tuesday during Black Hills Conference high school volleyball action.
Chelsey Hughes led the Bison with six kills. Kara Powell added five kills, nine solo blocks, one block assist and six digs, and Carlie Weiss also had five kills.
Ashley Nase and Randi Weiss paced the Hot Springs offense with eight set assists apiece.
Alise Kelting led the Rangers with eight kills, four service aces and a block. Carri Lucus added six digs, four kills and three aces. Bertha DeAnda and Maria Asheim had eight and five set assists, respectively.
Hot Springs (19-5, 8-2 BHC) plays at Lead-Deadwood and Hill City (7-15, 0-9) hosts conference-leading St. Thomas More on Thursday.
Edgemont 3, R.C. Christian 1
EDGEMONT - Liz Humiston had six kills as Edgemont beat Rapid City Christian 25-10, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18 in a high school volleyball match Tuesday.
Jayme Manke paced the offense with nine set assists, and Josie Thompson had five digs and a service ace for the Moguls.
Edgemont (9-12) plays at Crawford, Neb., on Thursday and Rapid City Christian (3-20) hosts White River on Saturday.
McIntosh-Isabel 3, Bison 1
MCINTOSH - McIntosh-Isabel dropped Bison 25-16, 25-14, 22-25, 25-8 as the Tigers recorded 19 aces and 38 kills in the win.
Morgan Huffman, LaNay Jung and Ashley Hoffman led the Tigers in most of the statistical catergories.
The trio combined for 27 kills as Morgan knocked down 12 winners. Ashley had a game-high seven aces while Shelby Meyer contributed five.
Erin Loeb had 12 digs with Jung leading the team in assists with 24.
The two teasms will tangle again on Saturday, this time in Bison.
McIntosh-Isabel is now 9-12, while Bison drops to 5-17 on the year.
Mobridge 3, McLaughlin 0
MCLAUGHLIN - Mobridge improved to 13-8 with a 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 triumph over McLaughlin on Tuesday night.
The Midgets (5-13) were led by Summer Taken Alive's four blocks, two kills, and two aces.
Evelyn Hoisington had seven kills and Natasha Greff had 11 assists for McLaughlin.
McLaughlin visits Hoven and Mobridge travels to Onida to play Sully Buttes in Thursday matches.
Highmore 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 1
MILLER - After dropping Game 1, Highmore was able to pull off a win over Sunshine Bible Academy during a 281 Conference high school volleyball match Tuesday.
The Pirates won by the scores of 23-25, 25-8, 25-16 and 25-20.
Kristi Ryan was 64-for-67 on the attack, and also had 19 blocks, 12 digs and four service aces for Highmore. Christiana Crain added four aces and 13 digs, and Anna Bronemann had 22 digs.
Wall 28, Jones County 12
Brittney LaDue led the Crusaders with seven kills and a block.
Highmore (6-12, 2-4 281 Conference) hosts Wessington Springs and Sunshine Bible Academy (9-9, 2-4) hosts James Valley Christian on Thursday.
Wall 3, Spearfish JV 0
WALL - Wall swept the Spearfish junior varsity in a high school volleyball match Tuesday.
The Eagles won by the scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-8.
Muriel Kjerstad and Katrina Kjerstad had six kills apiece, and Ashton Schulz added five for Wall.
Katrina Kjerstad also led the team with seven service aces and a solo block. Katelyn Crown contributed 14 digs and three aces, and Kaylee Gallino added 20 set assists and four aces in the win.
Wall (22-3) hosts Stanley County on Saturday.
