RAPID CITY - Entries are being accepted to the 38th annual Common Cents Open adult and junior tennis tournament.

The tournament is sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association. All matches will be played at the Sioux Park Tennis Complex in Rapid City.

The junior tournament will be played June 28-30. Entry fees are $23 for singles events and $13 per doubles player.

The adult tournament will run June 30-July 1. Entry fees for the adult tournaments are $38.13 for the adult open singles, $23 per player for the adult open doubles, $18 for adult singles and $13 per player for adult doubles. A purse of $6,000 will be paid out in the adult open events.

Faith hosting Best of the Best tourney

FAITH - The Best of the Best boys and girls basketball tournaments will be held over two weekends in June.

The first tournament will be held June 9-10 for boys and girls entering grades 3-8. Three age-group divisions will be held. The entry fee is $50 per team.

The second tournament is scheduled for June 16-17 for players entering grades 9-12. The entry fee is $85 per team.

All proceeds from the tournament benefit the South Dakota Jewel basketball team. The team is traveling to the NABI basketball tournament in Phoenix. The team is also hosting other fundraisers in June.

Mines holding girls basketball camp

RAPID CITY - The South Dakota Mines women's basketball program will hold the Lady Hardrocker Skills Development basketball camp June 25-28 at the King Center.

The camp is for girls entering grades 7-12, and will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Tuition is $60 per camper.

Raider cage camps running next week

RAPID CITY - The Raider Hoops Camps will be June 5-8 at Rapid City Stevens' Heier Gymnasium.

The camps are for boys entering grades K-12. Camp times for boys entering grades K-4 is 8 to 9:30 a.m. Grades 5-8 will meet from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. Grades 9-12 will be on court from noon to 2 p.m. Registration will be taken at the door.

Future Raider Summer League starts June 10

RAPID CITY - Future Raider boys basketball players can join a middle school summer league starting June 10.

The league runs through July 8 and is open to boys entering grades 5-8.

Amy's Race set for June 30 at Elk Point

ELK POINT - The third annual Amy's Race 5K run/1-mile walk will be June 30.

The race, which is a memorial run for breast cancer victim Amy Erickson, will start at 8 a.m. CDT at the Elk Point-Jefferson school track. The entry fee is $15 for runners and $10 for walkers. Division will be held for male and female runners.
