RAPID CITY - The Black Hills will play host to the Kohl's U.S. Youth Soccer American Cup, the largest recreational youth soccer festival in the United States. The event is scheduled for June 6 through June 9 at the Sioux Park Soccer Complex in Rapid City.

The event will feature boys and girls teams in the U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-19 divisions and will bring together numerous teams for the annual soccer tournament.

The Kohl's American Cup was started in 2000 as an avenue to highlight recreational soccer players and promote fair play. Players receive equal opportunities and benefits within their level of play, with an emphasis on participation, rather than competition.

This event is one of more than 60 Kohl's American Cup tournaments being held from February to December. All tournaments are open to players registered with a U.S. Youth Soccer State Association recreational league.

The Kohl's American Cup is the largest recreational youth soccer tournament in the United States and features more than 65,000 participants and more than 100,000 attendees annually since its inception in 2000. Kohl's U.S. Youth Soccer provides players an opportunity to experience a high-quality statewide tournament in a fun, family-like atmosphere.

The United States Youth Soccer Association is the largest youth sports organization in the country and largest member of the United States Soccer Federation, the governing body of soccer in the United States. U.S. Youth Soccer registers more than 3.2 million players annually, ages 5 to 19, and over 900,000 administrators, coaches and volunteers in 55 member state associations.
