HOT SPRINGS - St. Thomas More narrowly edged Lead-Deadwood for team honors at the Hot Springs Pre-Region/Invitational golf meet today at the Southern Hills Golf Course.

The Cavaliers shot a 337, followed by the Golddiggers who finished with a total score of 341. Custer took third place by shooting a 352 and host Hot Springs tallied a 356. Winner rounded out the top five after finishing with a total score of 361.

Lead-Deadwood's Zach Fox took medalist honors by shooting a 75, followed closely by Tyler Burr, of Belle Fourche, who shot a 76 to grab second place.

Jordan Smith, of Lead-Deadwood, tied for third place by each shooting a 78, and the Cavalier's Joe Drew and Winner's Kyle Higgins each finished with an 81 to take home fifth place.

Custer, Bennett County and St. Thomas more will participate in the two-day St. Thomas More Invitational beginning at 8 a.m. at the Hart Ranch on Thursday.
