RAPID CITY - The first signs of spring usually means the cancellation of area high school events and Friday was no exception.

The snow and colder conditions over the past couple of days cancelled the Rapid City Early Bird golf tournament at Meadowbrook Golf Course and knocked out the Aberdeen Central versus Rapid City Central tennis dual.

The Cobblers also did not get in a tennis match against Sturgis on Thursday, which will be made up in Sturgis on Friday.
