RAPID CITY - Nathan Jacobson scored six of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to help quell a late Belle Fourche rally and lift St. Thomas More to a 60-42 Black Hills Conference boys basketball victory Tuesday night.Zach Cimburek also helped the Cavs pull away.

Tanner Willard's lone 3-pointer and two free-throws by Kyle Grubb drew the Broncs to within eight points of the Cavaliers, 47-39, with 4:10 left in the fourth quarter.

Jacobson tallied two of More's four 3-pointers to lead the Cavs to an 18-5 first quarter lead, but with Belle all but shutting down the Cavs outside game after that, More took its game inside down the stretch.

Jacobson's first driving layup attempt bounced away, but he connected on two more slices to the hoop to give the Cavs' some breathing room.

"They run that flat play with Jacobson, and he's just too athletic. We can't stop that," said Belle Fourche coach Jim Martin.

"We got it down to eight with four minutes left, but they got away from us."

Cimburek finished with 10 points. Stevie Statz and Brendan Duffy each added nine.

"Belle really battled tonight and gave us all we could handle," More coach Dave Hollenbeck said.

"They did a nice job, defended hard and took away the perimeter.

"We tried to get a little something back door and Nate was able to get to the basket," Hollenbeck said.

Jacobson pulled down seven rebounds to lead More on the boards.

Kyle Grubb, a 6-5 senior, led Belle Fourche with 12 points.

"He's really getting tough on the post," Martin said.

Sophomores Brady Bisgaard and Dan Herman each added nine points. Bisgaard, a 5-9 point guard, hauled in six rebounds.

"They took care of the basketball, didn't give up many turnovers and got some good looks. Coach Martin really had them prepared," Hollenbeck said.

St. Thomas More, 13-2, 10-0 BHC, hosts Douglas on Friday night in another conference tilt.

Belle Fourche, 6-8, 3-6 BHC, hosts conference foe Hot Springs Friday night.
