Basketball: Holyoak, Enos earn DAC honors

RAPID CITY - South Dakota School of Mines women's basketball star Bethany Holyoak was named the Dakota Athletic Player of the Week on Monday for her outstanding performance this past week when the Lady Hardrockers traveled to California to compete in the Menlo College Classic.

Luke Enos, a Black Hills State sophomore forward, earned the men's honor this week as well.

The Hardrockers played Menlo, Holy Names University and then took on Dominican University during the stint. Holyoak, a junior Industrial Engineering major from Moorcroft, Wyo., tallied 61 points, 31 rebounds five assists, three blocks and was 31-36 on free throws for 86 percent accuracy.

Earlier in the week, Holyoak was also named to the Menlo College Classic All tournament team that was played Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 in California. In that tournament, the 6-foot-1 Holyoak collected 47 points, 19 rebounds and four assists in the two games.

Enos, of Faith, had 68 points, 31 rebounds, six assists, eight blocks and a steal as the Yellow Jackets had a 3-1 record for the week. In the four contests, he was 28-for-43 from the field.
