Todd County moved into the South Dakota Sportswriters Association rankings in Class 11A Monday. The No. 5-ranked Falcons were the only team in the six classes to move from unranked last week to ranked this week as all six No. 1 teams remained the same.

Sioux Falls Washington (Class 11AA), West Central (11A), Tri-Valley (11B), Lyman (9AA), Avon (9A) and Hitchcock-Tulare (9B) all stayed atop their respective classes. Brandon Valley (5-1) in Class 11AA, Winner (6-0) in Class 11B and Viborg (4-1) in Class 9B were the only other teams to receive first-place votes in the polls.

Class 11B's No. 2-ranked Winner knocked off Belle Fourche 10-3 last week on the road to remain undefeated. It was the Warriors' second straight win over a Black Hills Conference team on the road as they defeated No. 4-ranked Class 11A St. Thomas More in Rapid City the week before. Belle Fourche received at least one vote in Class 11A despite a 2-3 record, but the Broncs have lost to defending Wyoming Class 4A champion Douglas, West Central and Winner.

Unbeaten Philip moved up one spot in the Class 9AA rankings to No. 4, which sets up a huge showdown with top-ranked Lyman this week.

Harding County stayed unbeaten with a 22-14 overtime win over Wall and remained at No. 4 in the Class 9A ranks.
