NEWELL - Brady Bisgaard and Kyle Grubb both scored 16 points as Belle Fourche defeated Newell

63-44 in a Black Hills Conference boys basketball game on Tuesday night.

The Broncs held a double-figure lead throughout the first half, 17-7 after one and 33-22 at the half. Belle Fourche took a 46-32 lead into the final quarter.

Zach Grapentine also scored in double figures for the Broncs with 13 points.

Newell struggled to get its shots down. The Irrigators hit 34 percent (16-of-47) from the field; including a 0-for-10 performance from 3-point range.

"We didn't shoot well; a lot of teams are playing zones and allowing us to shoot," Newell head coach Scott Wince said.

"Until we learn how to shoot the basketball better, people are not going to come out and guard us."

Sterling Boylan paced the Irrigators with 13 points. Patrick Gatzke netted nine points and Tyler Mutchler added eight.

"They (Belle Fourche) were real smooth tonight, and they just seem to get better as the season goes along," Wince said.

Belle Fourche beat Newell 52-47 on Dec. 18.

Belle Fourche (8-8) travels to Douglas, and Newell (6-8) travels to Lead-Deadwood on Saturday.
