MITCHELL - Sioux Falls' Maggie Murphy cruised to her first South Dakota Golf Association title Sunday during the Women's Amateur Championship at the par-72 Lakeview Golf Course.
Murphy posted a 2-over-par 74 to finish with a three-day total of 1-under 215, giving her a six-shot win. Murphy, who plays at New Mexico State, entered the final round with a six-shot lead after carding a 4-under 68 on Saturday.
Vermillion's Amanda Young had the low round of the day with a 69, putting her in second with a 5-over 221 total.
Sioux Falls golfers Chelsea Cadwell (75) and Karla Murra (75) finished at 224, with Cadwell winning a scorecard playoff to claim third place. Julie Jansa (76) of Sioux Falls ended up in fifth at 226. Jansa and Murra were the first-round co-leaders after firing even-par 72s Friday.
Sioux Falls golfer Sydney Sturdevant (79) wound up in sixth with a 227 total.
Kati Scholten of Brookings and Vermillion's Allison Stewart took seventh and eighth, respectively, while Sioux Falls' Kelli Endahl and Betsy DeWit took ninth and tenth, respectively.
Nicole Lloyd of Sioux Falls claimed the first-flight title. She shot 72 Sunday to give her a 229 total. Rapid City's Paige Osterloo (76), who won the Junior Championship last week, was tied for fifth in the first flight at 237.
In the second flight, Lead's Danielle Bellet edged Sioux Falls' Lisa Meritt in a scorecard playoff to take top honors. Both Bellet and Meritt, this year's Mid-Amateur champion, shot a final-round 77 for a 239 total.
