RAPID CITY - Jason Herz hit the game-winning RBI to give the Handcrafted A's a 6-5 victory over the Drillers Friday in the elimination game of the city tournament for Black Hills Amateur League baseball.
The A's Rod Merriam got on base with a single to right in the top of the ninth inning, before Herz stepped up to the plate and drove in the winning run.
Daryl Deneke was 2-for-4 with two RBI to pace the A's, while Merriam finished 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Herz picked up the win on the mound.
Zane Roduner was 4-for-5 with three RBI to pace the Drillers. Josh Lundin was 2-for-5 with an RBI and Ben Krush also finished 2-for-5.
J.J. Martin took the loss for the Drillers.
The city tournament continues today at 4 p.m. as the Handcrafted A's face the Trojans at McKeague Field.
