RAPID CITY - "Happy Skates," A Black Hills Figure Skating Club presentation, will be on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena.
The ice show features choreographed skating routines by learn-to-skate students, the learn-to-skate synchronized skating team and the independent figure skating club. The show will also feature exhibition solo performances by club skaters.
The annual winter ice show is the skating club's biggest fundraiser of the year. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $4 for senior citizens and kids 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena before show time. Money raised from the event helps defray the cost of purchasing ice time for club skaters.

Tourneys, auctions raise $33,500 for BHSU
SPEARFISH - Golf tournaments and an auction raised more than $33,500 for athletic scholarships at Black Hills State University this year.
John Kietzmann, director of development at BHSU, recently announced the results of the four successful fundraisers for the BHSU athletic department and thanked the community. "Black Hills State University is very appreciative of the support from all of the participants," Kietzmann said.
Three of the fundraisers are annual golf tournaments. The Mark Larscheid Memorial Golf Tournament, which has been held for the last seven years to raise money for a track and field scholarship, is held to celebrate Larscheid's memory. Larscheid was a BHSU grad and track and field standout. The family donated $2,500 this year from the golf tournament.
More than $6,000 for scholarships was raised at the annual Yellow Jacket-Gold Dust Golf Tournament, held in June. The "Old Baby" Yellow Jacket Golf Classic, held in June in Saratoga, Wyo., raised over $21,000 for athletic scholarships.
The 17th annual Yellow Jacket-Gold Dust Benefit Auction was held this fall. This year's auction raised over $10,000 from local and national businesses.
