MITCHELL - Snow came into play at the St. Thomas More versus Mitchell tennis dual on Friday as the Cavaliers held a 4-2 lead over the Kernels when the match was postponed.
It was the season opener for both schools.
Also wiped out due to the snowy conditions was the match against Pierre.
"We needed about another 45 minutes to get the Mitchell match in," said St. Thomas More coach Larry
Kopriva.
"The snow followed us the whole way down here until we were about five miles out of town. The kids were sliding and falling down as we started up the doubles matches, for the safety of the players we postponed the rest of the triangular," said Kopriva.
Cody Kopriva, Stewart Flannery, Kyle Rohrbach and Rusty Ransburgh all won their singles matches for the Cavaliers.
Mitchell's No. 1 seed Tyler Osterloo defeated Ian Kopriva 8-4 and the Kernels Drake edged Trevor Moyle 8-6 to account for both Mitchell wins.
The matches will count for seeding purposes at the state meet.
More will take on Sioux Falls O'Gorman at 11 a.m. MDT and then play Sioux Falls Roosevelt today at 1 p.m.
"We are looking pretty strong as a squad, we should be a lot more competitive this year," Kopriva said.
