The St. Thomas More/Rapid City Christian girls tennis team swept Vermillion and Madison on Tuesday to run its record to 5-0 over the past two days.
The Cavaliers won both matches by scores of 9-0 and are now sitting at 10-1 on the season.
STM got big wins from its No. 1 and No. 2 players against Madison as Aisling Gould and Cheyenne Raforth downed Molly Johnson and Laura Niedert, respectively.
"They had never beaten Madison's No. 1 and No. 2 and today both of them did it individually and in doubles," More head coach Mary Helen Flanery said. "We beat Aberdeen Roncalli yesterday and we hadn't done that before so the girls came in with a lot of confidence."
Gould's win was a tight one as she held off Johnson 11-9, while Raforth was a 10-5 winner.
The duo downed the Johnson and Niedert in doubles by an 11-9 tally as well.
Picking up two singles wins for the Cavaliers on the day were Alexis Haakedahl, Marin Plumb, Denali Raforth and Catherine Gibbens.
"We are proud of the girls because they played hard and stayed focused," Flanery said.
