Missouri State landed two Missouri Valley Football Conference player of the week honors, the league announced on Sunday.

Tight end Clay Harbor was named the offensive player of the week after he had a career high 171 yards on eight receptions in Missouri State's 17-16 win at Western Illinois on Saturday. Harbor had five catches for 130 yards in the second half. His eight receptions also matched a career high.

Place kicker Matt Hottelman earned the special teams award after his 37-yard field goal with 36 seconds remaining in the game sealed the Bears' win at Western Illinois. It marked the senior's first game-winning field goal and lifted the Bears over the Fighting Leathernecks in Macomb for the first time since 2001.

Southern Illinois cornerback Brandon Williams scored the winning points for No. 5 Southern Illinois in its 27-20 victory at No. 2 Northern Iowa to earn the defensive award. Williams intercepted a Pat Grace pass and returned it 21-yards for the touchdown with 2:48 left in the game.

GREAT WEST CONFERENCE HANDS OUT WEEKLY AWARDS: Appearing to be 100 percent after a broken foot kept him out of the first two games of the season, Southern Utah WR Tysson Poots caught 12 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown to earn the Great West Athletic Conference's offensive player of the week award, the league announced on Sunday.

Cal Poly DE Ryan Shotwell and UC Davis WR Joseph Gray were the other two receipients.

Poots caught the potential game-tying TD grab with nine seconds to play in Southern Utah's 24-23 loss at No. 19 Cal Poly. Unfortunately for Poots and the Thunderbirds, the PAT to tie sailed wide left. Poots' receiving yards and receptions are both the second-best efforts in the Great West Conference this season.

Shotwell equalled his career-high with three sacks, forced a fumble, broke up a pass and hurried the quarterback twice for Cal Poly to earn the defensive player of the week award. Shotwell, who also had three sacks against South Dakota State a year ago, notched five total tackles Saturday, all solo stops. Shotwell now has 17.5 career sacks, No. 9 on Cal Poly's all-time career list and moving ahead of his older brother, Kyle (17.0).

Gray returned a kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown during the third quarter of the Aggies' 45-14 victory over Winston-Salem State to earn the special teams award. Gray caught the ball at the UC Davis 19 after the Rams were forced to kick off from their own 15 due to a penalty on the previous touchdown and returned it through the WSSU kick coverage.
