RAPID CITY - The expansion Rapid City Rush has joined the lineup at this year's Central States Fair, which runs Aug. 15 through Aug. 23.

The team will sponsor a booth at the fair Aug. 21 through Aug. 23 from noon until 8 p.m. The Rush will offer a variety of activities for children, ranging from Rush temporary tattoos to puck-shooting competitions, and will have staff available to answer questions about the upcoming season.

In addition to keeping the kids entertained, the Rush plan to announce the team's mascot Aug. 23. The mascot will be unveiled sometime during the week of the fair at an undisclosed event and time and will be available Aug. 23 from noon until 3 p.m. for photographs and autographs.

"We're very excited about the opportunity to be a part of the fair and the introduction of the team's mascot," Rush general manager Jason Rent said. "One of my first experiences in Rapid City was the fair and we're honored to be participating in this grand event."

The Rush open their inaugural season on the road Oct. 17 and will host their home opener against Colorado on Nov. 29.
