CHAMBERLAIN -- Champion Jordan Wohlleber led Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to a 1-2 finish and the girls title, while Marc Whirlwind Soldier of Todd County led William White Buffalo of Jones County to win the boys run at the Chamberlain Invitational-Big Dakota Conference cross-country meet on Sept. 13.
Wohlleber clocked a 15:20 to win the girls run, 28 seconds ahead of teammate Ashley Iron Moccasin. Lottie Grimshaw of Todd County was fourth at 16:01.
The defending Class A state cross-country champion Braves finished ahead of Kadoka in the team tally.
Leading Kadoka was Abby Niehoff, (7th) Shaley Herber (8th), and Tia Carlson, (10th).
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte also won the Big Dakota Conference title over Todd County.
Boys team champion McLaughlin placed five runners in the top 14 and also won the conference title ahead of Todd County.
Whirlwind Soldier clocked in at 16:11, 29 seconds ahead of William White Buffalo.
Scott White Buffalo of Jones County was seventh, ahead of Frankie Waln of White River.
