KADOKA - Kadoka Area drilled Philip 90-36 in a high school boys basketball game Tuesday night.
Kadoka area jumped out to an early 28-10 lead after the first quarter and led by 30 at halftime.
Five players scored in double figures for the Kougars, with Carter Uhler leading the way with 13 points and Bryer Jones adding 12 for Kadoka Area.
The Scotties were led by Casey Cvach with 10 points.
Kadoka Area (3-1) plays St. Francis on Dec. 28 at the Lyman Classic in Presho.
Belle Fourche 52, Newell 47
BELLE FOURCHE - Belle Fourche recorded a 52-47 win over Newell during Black Hills Conference high school boys basketball action Tuesday night.
The Broncs led at each quarter stop, including 40-30 entering the fourth quarter.
Kyle Grubb led Belle Fourche with 18 points and eight rebounds. Brady Bisgaard added 12 points, and Sam Pehl had seven.
Sterling Boylan had a big game for the Irrigators, posting game highs of 28 points and 14 rebounds. Tyler Mutchler added 12 points.
"The game went great," Belle Fourche assistant coach Nick Redden said. "Newell had some great players in Boylan and Mutchler."
Belle Fourche (2-3) plays Pine Ridge at Black Hills State's Young Center on Dec. 27. Newell (1-1) plays at Hill City on Dec. 28.
Gregory 74, Keya Paya, Neb. 40
GREGORY - Gregory had three players score in double figures as the Gorillas made a strong statement in the second half to down Keya Paha, Neb., 74-40 on Tuesday night.
Jake Hahne scored 15 points, Luke Whalen had 13 and Tyrel Herrlein added 10 for Gregory in the win.
"We made some changes defensively and that helped get our fast break going," said Gregory head coach Jeff Determan. "We executed a lot better in the second half."
Keith Mizner led Keya Paha with 17 points while Austin Barstow added 13.
Gregory (2-1) hosts Stanley County on Thursday.
Lyman 57, Colome 50
PRESHO-Three players scored in double figures as Lyman earned a 57-50 victory over Colome in a boys basketball game Tuesday night.
Tyler Ollerich led Lyman with 23 points while Abrahamson had 14 and David Schindler added 10.
Colome was led by Ethan Vobr, who finished with a game-high 27 points.
Lyman(3-2) plays McIntosh in the Lyman Classic on Dec. 28 in Presho.
Edgemont 33, Sioux County, Neb. 32
HARRISON, Neb. - Edgemont held off a late Sioux County, Neb., rally to record a 33-32 win during high school boys basketball action in the third-place game of the Pre-Holiday Tournament on Tuesday.
Josh Barker had team highs of 11 points and seven rebounds for Edgemont, and Arron Mower added 10 points.
Lane Grote led Sioux County with 12 markers.
Edgemont (3-2) plays at Wall on Friday.
Chamberlain 51, Winner 34
CHAMBERLAIN - Chamberlain stopped Winner 51-34 as Joe Hieb tossed in a game-high 19 points to lead the Cubs to victory.
"We did a very good job defensively tonight," said Chamberlain head coach Alan Bertram. "They (Winner) had been playing with a lot of confidence as of late."
Wade Hickey posted a double-double for the winners with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Horstman led the Warriors with 11 points.
Chamberlain (2-1) hosts Wessington Springs on Thursday while Winner (2-2) plays in the Snowball Classic in Winner on Dec. 29.
Newcastle, Wyo. 84, Moorcroft, Wyo. 81, 2OT
NEWCASTLE, Wyo. - Nick Pisciotti had a double-double and Newcastle beat Moorcroft, Wyo., 84-81 in double overtime, during a high school boys basketball game Tuesday.
Pisciotti had 25 points and 10 rebounds the Dogies. Kade Ferguson added 18 points and seven boards, while Jeremiah Decker and Jeremy Beehler combined for 27 points and 11 assists.
Michael Peterson scored a game-high 37 points for the Wolves. DeJay Hacklin added 20 markers.
Sully Buttes 78, Mobridge 69
ONIDA - Sully Buttes stayed unbeaten with a 78-69 triumph over Mobridge as four Chargers scored in double figures.
Spencer Yackley led Sully Buttes with 24 points. Ryan Yackley added 16, Zach Merwin 14 and Matt McCue 10 for the winners.
Hunter Hook led the Tigers with 31 points with Skyler Frederick adding 15 points in the loss.
Sully Buttes (3-0) plays in the Parkston classic on Dec. 27 while Mobridge (1-3) plays next in the Rotary Classic in Mobridge on Dec. 29.
Sundance 74, Upton 42
UPTON-Cody Emrick scored 14 points as Sundance defeated Upton 74-42 in high school boys basketball action Tuesday night.
Martin Danauskis added 13 points for the Bulldogs as Sundance shot 49 percent from the field (32-65).
Upton was led by Jesse Stockler who finished with a game-high 17 points.
Sundance (5-3) hosts Kaycee on Jan. 4.
GIRLS GAMES
Tiospaye Topa 42, Bison 35
BISON - Kelly Laurenz scored 11 points as Tiospaye Topa topped Bison 42-35 in Monday night girls basketball action.
Emily Chapman scored a game-high 15 points for Bison. Teammate Alyssa Kolb chipped in 11.
Bison (0-4 overall) travels to Dupree on Thursday. Tiospaye Topa (2-3) is off until Jan. 7 when the Thunderhawks travel to McIntosh-Isabel.
Gregory 65, Keya Paha, Neb. 36
GREGORY - Gregory cruised past Keya Paha, Neb., 65-36, in a high school girls basketball game Tuesday.
The Gorillas led 25-19 at halftime, before opening up a 42-27 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Allissa Kruse paced Gregory with 14 points. Kary Vomacka notched a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Kaira Kruse added eight points.
The Gorillas forced 25 turnovers, while only giving the ball away 12 times.
Gregory (1-4) plays at Lyman on Thursday.
Kadoka Area 65, Philip 62
KADOKA - Kadoka Area came from behind in the fourth quarter and picked up a 65-62 victory over Philip in girls basketball action Tuesday night.
Freshman Emmy Antonsen hit two clutch free throws with 13 seconds left in the ballgame to seal the victory for the Kougars.
"We got into foul trouble early and had to go to a smaller lineup," said Kadoka Area head coach Travis Thompson. "We had to go deeper in our bench tonight and they came through for us."
Maria Herber scored 24 points, and Shannon VanderMay chipped in 12, for Kadoka area.
Lindsay Mann led Philip with 22 points, while Marissa Mann added 11.
Kadoka Area (4-0) hosts Jones County Thursday night in Kadoka. Philip (2-2) plays at New Underwood on Jan. 3.
Edgemont 40, Banner Co. 39
HARRISON, Neb. - Edgemont picked up its first win of the season with a 40-39 triumph over Banner County in the consolation game of the Sioux County Pre-Holiday Tournament on Tuesday.
Chyla Koller tallied 11 points and Lacey Stevens netted 10 for the Moguls.
Bethany Cooper scored a game-high 16 points for Banner County.
Edgemont (1-4) travels to Wall on Friday to play the Eagles.
New Underwood 54, Sturgis JV 42
NEW UNDERWOOD - Candy Hall dropped in 22 points as New Underwood stayed unbeaten with a 54-42 triumph over the Sturgis JV on Tuesday night.
Devon Smith added 15 and Jaymason Whipple had nine for the Tigers.
"We were aggressive in the early going," said New Underwood head coach Dallas Richter. "They were the first team to play a man-to-man defense on us."
Liyssa Gouldin scored 10 points for the Scoopers.
The Tigers (4-0) will be off for the rest of the year. They will host Philip on Jan. 3.
Wall 64, Lyman 58
WALL - Wall beat Lyman 64-58 in overtime of a high school girls basketball tilt Tuesday.
"Yeah, we played good defense in overtime," Wall head coach John Hess said. "We got up, got some pressure and forced some turnovers in that overtime."
Katelyn Crown (17 points) Kaylee Gallino (12) and Katrina Kjerstad (10) got in double figures for Wall.
Lyman's Kari Schmidt had a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Lyman (2-3) hosts Gregory on Thursday, and Wall (1-4) hosts Edgemont on Friday.
Timber Lake 39, Faith 27
TIMBER LAKE - Becky Maher and Kasidee Traversie scored 10 points each as Timber Lake downed Faith 39-27 Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers led 10-8 after the first eight minutes and allowed a single free throw in the second as they led 19-9 at the intermission.
Brianna Lemmel scored 15 points for the Lady Longhorns.
Timber Lake (4-1) will be off until Jan. 3 when they travel to Cheyenne-Eagle Butte.
Faith (0-4) travels to play Dupree on Jan. 4
Newcastle, Wyo. 67, Moorcroft, Wyo. 27
NEWCASTLE, Wyo. - Newcastle's Taylor Farella single-handedly outscored Moorcroft, Wyo., during the Dogies' 67-27 victory Tuesday during high school girls basketball action.
Farella poured in a game-high 30 points. Heidi Beehler added 11 points and five rebounds for Newcastle, which trailed 9-8 after the first quarter before opening up a 33-16 lead at halftime.
Ashley Bietz paced the Wolves with 10 points.
Newcastle (7-1) plays at Torrington, Wyo., on Thursday.
Northwestern Area 47, Gettysburg 37
GETTYSBURG - Northwestern Area outscored Gettysburg 12-1 in the fourth quarter during a 47-37 victory in a high school girls basketball game Tuesday.
Kelli Bockelheide led the Wildcats (2-3) with 20 points and seven rebounds.
Chelsey Poeppel led the Battlers (1-4) with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Winner 79, Chamberlain 44
CHAMBERLAIN-Five players scored in double figures as Winner toppled Chamberlain 79-44 in high school girls basketball action Tuesday night.
Winner was too much for Chamberlain early as the Warriors jumped out to a 28-9 lead in first quarter.
"They got after it right away," said Chamberlain head coach Mark Harmig. "Winner pressed early and that bothered us a little bit."
The Cubs were down by 16 at intermission, but Winner started the second half with 8 straight points to put the game out of reach for Chamberlain.
Megan Phillips scored 16 points for Winner while Sammie Parvin added 14 and Kasey Novotny and Jordan Harter finished with 12 apiece for the Warriors.
The Cubs were led by Kelsey Schindler with 14 points.
Chamberlain(1-3)plays Stanley County at Ft. Pierre on Thursday.
