PINE RIDGE/HOT SPRINGS - Custer spilled Hot Springs 41-30 to advance to the District 15A Championship game on Thursday at
the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. against Red Cloud, which
defeated Hill City 64-34 in Pine Ridge.
The Wildcats kept the Bison off the scoreboard in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead only to have Hot Springs battle back to take 18-17 lead in the third quarter.
Custer's balanced attack then wore down the Bison in the latter stages of the game.
"Custer came out and shot the ball well," said Hot Springs head coach Levi Klippenstein.
"We only took two shots in the first quarter."
Hot Springs defeated Custer twice during the regular season.
