RAPID CITY - Pine Ridge had a three-point lead at half, but Cheyenne-Eagle Butte had a three-point lead when it mattered as it narrowly edged Pine Ridge in a Makosica bracket game, 64-61.
Myles Frazier paced the winners with 17 points and had seven rebounds. Teammates Devero Yellow Earring and Max Ganje added 11 and nine points, respectively. Pine Ridge's Roman Leftwich led all players with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte will play Custer in the Makosica bracket semifinals at 7:30 p.m. today. Pine Ridge will play Red Cloud at 9 a.m.
Both games are at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Barnett Arena.
Standing Rock 78, Little Wound 62: Christian Iron Shield scored 17 points as Standing Rock, N.D., defeated Little Wound 78-62 in the quarterfinals.
Josh Penny and Holden Still Smoking each scored 14 points for the Warriors.
Spur Pourier put 29 points on the board for Little Wound. Jacey Mesteth added 10 points for the Mustangs.
Standing Rock advances to play White River at 9 p.m. in the Barnett Arena. Little Wound takes on Omaha Nation at noon in the Barnett Arena.
Paha Sapa Bracket
Todd County 108, Takini 51: Todd County placed five players in double figures in downing Takini, 108-51, in Paha Sapa bracket consolation play at the Lakota Nation Invitational boys basketball Tournament Thursday.
Evander Bad Hand led the Falcons with 22 points.
Cole White Wolf led Takini with 20 points.
Todd County will face Lower Brule at 1:30 p.m., while Takini will square off with Crow Creek at 9 a.m.
Lower Brule 63, Crow Creek 56: Devon Saul scored 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to pace Lower Brule to a 63-56 Paha Sapa bracket win over Crow Creek Thursday.
Sean Johnson and Joseph Skunk each tossed in 15 points for Lower Brule. Levi Hawkwing added eight points and 17 rebounds.
Vilas Fallis Jr. scored 10 points to lead Crow Creek, which led by two at the half.
Crow Creek plays Takini at 9 a.m. in the Ice Arena and Lower Brule will take on Todd County at 1:30 p.m.
Hill City 90, Crazy Horse 42: Hill City held a 30-point halftime lead and never looked back in a 90-42 win over Crazy Horse.
Nash Koel recorded a double-double with a game-high 21 points and a team-high 13 rebounds for Hill City.
Clint Lewis netted 17 points, Andy Coy scored 16 points and Justin Klein added 10 points in the win. Hill City shot 56 percent from the field.
Hill City held a 42-12 advantage on the boards.
Carl Dull Knife scored a team-high 18 points including five 3-pointers. Crazy Horse shot 41 percent from the field
Hill City will play Flandreau Indian at 11 a.m. at S.D. Mines. Crazy Horse takes on St. Francis at noon.
Flandreau Indian 89, St. Francis 69: Ryan Soft scored 15 points as Flandreau Indian defeated St. Francis 89-69.
Roscoe Grant and Sterling Drapeau each added 14 points in the win. Ohkwalli Skenandore scored 13 points and grabbed a team-high seven boards.
Austin Prue led St. Francis with a game-high 16 points. Corey Eagleman (15), T.J. Bad Hand (14) and Henry Brave Hawk (11) also finished in double figures.
Flandreau shot 59 percent from the field while St. Francis hit 44 percent. Flandreau held a 41-29 advantage on the boards.
Flandreau will meet Hill City at 11 a.m. at S.D. Mines. St. Francis will play Crazy Horse at noon.
