RAPID CITY - The Harney All-Stars and the Canyon Lake All-Stars emerged from three days of pool play to face each other in the North Dakota-South Dakota District I Little League Girls Softball championship game tonight at the Harney Complex at 7 p.m.
Harney stopped Rushmore in Friday night's first game 12-2 as Abbie Wahl pitched a complete game three-hitter.
Bryce Winger was 3-for-3 for the winners with Emily Witcraft and Caitlan Oster adding two hits each for Harney.
Jordan Gerry took the loss for Rushmore.
Brandee Roach, Destiny Garza and Gerry had singles.
Harney finished up 3-0 in pool play.
In the second game of the night, with a title game berth at state, Canyon Lake spilled Timberline 11-1 to set up a rematch against Harney.
Tara Kuper allowed only two hits on the night as she picked up the win for Canyon Lake.
Melissa Nieland took the loss for Timberline.
Kuper and Kelsey Henderson had two apiece hits for Canyon Lake.
Sarah Hast hit an inside-the-park home run for Timberline.
Canyon Lake is now 2-1 in the tournament with Timberline 1-2 and Rushmore 0-3.
On Wednesday night, Harney scored a 12-2 win over Canyon Lake.
The winner of the Harney and Canyon Lake game will advance to Joplin, Mo. as the District I champions representing the state of South Dakota.
