RAPID CITY - Newly-crowned Greater Dakota Conference champion Sioux Falls O'Gorman continues to top the team, singles and doubles rankings in this week's Rapid City Journal girls tennis coaches poll, released Wednesday.
The undefeated Knights (20-0 overall, 6-0 GDC) again swept all first-place votes cast in each of the three categories.
The remainder of the team rankings remain unchanged from last week, with GDC runner-up Rapid City Stevens second, followed by Sioux Falls Roosevelt, Sioux Falls Lincoln, and Watertown.
Coaches also maintained the singles rankings from last week, with O'Gorman's Theresa Petrasko (20-0), Hannah Gebauer of Lincoln, Kristi Meyers of Roosevelt, Lauren Schultz of Stevens and Alicia Olson of Watertown the top five.
Rapid City Central's Hallie Sims did pick up a vote after her upset of Meyers in the GDC tournament in Rapid City on Tuesday.
In doubles, Petrasko and Meg Townsend of O'Gorman (20-0) garnered all 10 first-place votes cast to continue at No. 1. Hannah Gebauer and Joey Bosch of Lincoln (14-3) are tied with Lauren Shultz and Kaitlyn Wright of Rapid City at the No. 2 spot, with Sarah Hamre and Kristi Meyers of Roosevelt fourth and Watertown's Anna Jones and Lauren Beadnell fifth.
