RAPID CITY - Twenty-five teams will compete today in the Rapid City Invitational cross country meet at Elks Golf Course.

This is a correction to the article printed in today's edition of the Journal, which mistakenly listed Hart Ranch Golf Course as the site of the meet.

The race will draw schools from South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado. Over 700 runners will compete in divisions ranging from varsity through middle school.

Action begins at 3 p.m. when the gun sounds on the varsity girls race. The varsity boys will follow at 3:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity girls at 4 p.m. and the JV boys at 4:30 p.m.

Middle school runners close out the competition, with the girls run at 5 p.m. and the boys at 5:30 p.m.

South Dakota schools competing in the varsity meet are Rapid City Stevens, Rapid City Central, Custer, Douglas, Hill City, Hot Springs, Pierre, Spearfish, St. Thomas More and Sturgis.

Wyoming schools competing are Cheyenne Central, Campbell County, Hulett, Moorcroft, Newcastle and Sheridan.

North Dakota schools entered are Bismarck and Mandan.

Johnstown is the lone Colorado school competing.

Among the middle school entrants are Gillette Sage Valley and South, Dakota, North, Southwest and West, all of Rapid City.
