Coaches from Yankton, Sioux Falls and Rapid City have been named to received 2009 assistant coach of the year awards from the South Dakota High School Coaches Association.
Honorees include Ken Schaefer of Yankton, assistant coach of the year for boys sports; Brett Schlekeway of Sioux Falls, assistant coach of the year for girls sports, and Ron Wackel of Rapid City, junior high-middle school coach of the year.
