RAPID CITY - The Rapid City Rush and the Mississippi RiverKings will be back on the ice at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center arena in less than 24 hours.

Rush head coach Joe Ferras was pleased with the intensity that his team brought to Friday night's game and said it felt like playoff atmosphere despite the 3-1 loss.

"The effort was there and the intensity was great," he said.

The key for the Rush will be to get more shots on goal and try to get more bodies in front of the net to try to punch some rebounds home.

Rapid City's offensive leaders Rich Hansen and Chris Lipsett were held without a point in the first game and will be looking to ramp up the offense tonight.

The Rush have proven to be capable of making adjustments quickly having lost to Colorado less than 24 hours before coming home for their first home game of the season last Saturday and won 4-0.

Ferras said he was pleased with his team's defense with the exception of the second goal it gave up on Friday. The RiverKings were able to swarm the net which led to too many bodies in front of the goalie.

Friday's win was the fourth in the last five games for Mississippi, while the Rush remain stuck on 13 points on the season. They entered Friday's game tied with three other teams with 13 points in the Northwest Division behind Colorado which had 30 points.

The game will be the fourth in the Rush's eight-game homestand after opening the season on a 14-game road trip.

The puck is set to drop at 7:05 p.m.
