SPEARFISH - The annual Black Hills State University Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede Rodeo will be April 24-25 at the Seven Down Arena.

Last year, the Yellow Jacket Stampede was renamed to honor Will Lantis - who passed away the previous August - for his commitment to BHSU rodeo. Lantis was president of Lantis Enterprises, a family-owned company that operates assisted-living and long-term health-care facilities in Montana, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. He is remembered as a great American cowboy who fulfilled a dream when he built and operated the Seven Down Arena.

The first day's events include slack at 1:30 p.m. and performance at 7 p.m. On the second day, the barrel race slack will be at 10 a.m., performance at 1 p.m., and short-go at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the rodeo are $7 for adults, $5 for students with a student ID and children under 12 get in free.
