SEATTLE - Former Black Hills State standout Zac Alcorn was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday.
Alcorn, a free agent signing this past offseason with the Seahawks, has also spent time with Kansas City and Green Bay since 2006.
The move came after Seattle signed its second round draft pick, tight end John Carlson, to a multi-year deal. Carlson was drafted 38th overall in this year's NFL Draft out of Notre Dame.
Alcorn attended Chadron High School in Chadron, Neb., and was a letterman in football, basketball and track and field as a discus thrower. In football, as a senior, he won all-conference honors and all-state honors.
While at Black Hills State, Alcorn was a first-team NAIA All-American in 2005 for the Yellow Jackets.
