The Black Hills State rodeo team will host the second-annual Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede Rodeo at 7 p.m. on April 24 and 1 p.m. on April 25.
The Cowboys and Candlelight dinner and auction will be April 25 at the Holiday Inn in Spearfish. The events begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour followed by a prime rib dinner. An auction and live entertainment will conclude the evening.

Ring Wars set for March 21 in Deadwood: Ring Wars 36: Respect will by Saturday, March 21 at the Deadwood Pavillion in Deadwood.
The main event will be a title fight between Allie Comer and Dustin Hunsacker. There will also be a professional fight featuring Jason Akermon against Robert Fitch, and a 135-pound fight featuring Elliot Keller and Jeff Woods.
Doors open at 6 p.m. on the night of the fights, with action beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Ultimate Fitness and The Lucky Nugget. For more information, call 605-342-8080.
Racers speed to awards at state swim meet: The Rapid City Racers did well at the South Dakota state swim meet this past weekend.
The Racers were the seventh-place team overall and won the team percentage award for scoring an average of 10.90 points per entry in each event. The percentage was greater than that of the state champion Sioux Falls Snowfox.
There were about 40 best times including eight state champions in multiple events for Rapid City: Brian Gorman had four championships, Alyssa Bailey had one, Ben Sieve had two and Tamara Gorman, one. Sieve qualified for Central Zone Championships this summer in the 50 Backstroke. Tyler Smoragiewicz qualified for Speedo Sectional Championship meet in the 1,000 freestyle in March.
DWU softball splits again: The second day of the Dakota Wesleyan University softball team's season went similar to the first day. The Tigers split a pair of games against good competition at their spring break tournament in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
The DWU bats came alive in a 10-6 win over St. Mary of the Woods College to open Wednesday's action, but the Tigers couldn't hold and early lead complete the sweep as King's College's offense was too much in the late innings in a 14-2 loss.
McLaurin named to RMAC East Division first team: Chadron State College basketball player Tim McLaurin has been named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference East Division first team, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
McLaurin, a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard from Compton, Calif., led the Eagles in points (18.2), rebounds (5.4) and assists (3.7) during the season. He led the team in scoring in 17 games and reached double-digit points in 25-of-27 games.
For the season, McLaurin shot 42 percent from the field (166-of-394) and 79 percent from the foul line (125-of-157).
McLaurin also recorded the second triple double in CSC men's basketball history against Augustana to open the 2008-09 season. In that game, he scored 23 points, hauled in 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. He is the first CSC men's player to be recognized on an RMAC first team since both Kweemada King and Otis Frazier earned all-conference nods in 2000.
Busch, Lyman earn All-RMAC honors: A pair of Chadron State College women's basketball players have been placed on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Conference teams, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Sunni Busch, a junior guard from Mission, was named to the East Division second team, and Alyssa Lyman, a junior guard from Gillette, Wyo., earned a spot on the third team.
Busch scored 15.6 points and grabbed 9.4 rebounds a game to lead the Eagles in both categories. She also handed out 3.4 assists a game and collected 41 steals. Busch tied for the RMAC lead with 12 double-doubles and became the ninth woman in CSC history to score over 1,000 points.
Lyman was second on the team in scoring with 14 points a game and she set a school record by making 81 3-pointers. Lyman reached double figures in 20-of-27 games played and scored at least 20 points for a four-game stretch. She also averaged 4.4 rebounds a game.
