BROOKINGS - South Dakota State's Steve Grantz has been named Summit League men's tennis player of the week after posting an undefeated record in singles play during the Jackrabbits' spring-break trip to Florida last week.

A senior from Rapid City, Grantz ran his singles winning streak to seven with five victories at No. 4 singles last week. He recorded straight-sets victories in all five matches as the Jackrabbits went 3-2 against Siena (N.Y.), Wisconsin-La Crosse, Wagner (N.Y.), Grinnell (Iowa) and Taylor (Ind.).

In addition, Grantz teamed with Brian Hylle at No. 2 doubles to post a 4-1 record in Florida.

The Jackrabbits open Summit League play this weekend with three matches in Kansas City, Mo.
