WATERTOWN - Rapid City Stevens earned a 6-3 victory over Watertown Thursday afternoon in varsity boys tennis action.
The Raiders' Billy Paluch dominated Danny Towle 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match, and Jack Hamburg followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win over David Brandsrud. Gib Moyle defeated Jeff Moffatt 6-0, 7-5 and J.J. Schultz beat Tyler Spilde 6-3, 6-2.
Watertown took the final two singles matches as Colin Zent downed Stephen Tibbles 6-2, 1-6 (10-6) and Jordan Feige defeated Cody Eslinger 6-1, 6-4.
In doubles competition, the team of Paluch and Hamburg downed Tower and Spilde, 6-1, 6-0. Moyle and Schultz were winners in the No. 2 doubles match, 7-6, (14-12), 6-1. The Arrows took the final match as Feige and Towle defeated Tibbles and Eslinger, 6-3, 1-6 (10-5).
The win helps Rapid City Stevens improve to 14-3 on the season. The Raiders will face Sioux Falls O'Gorman today in Sioux Falls.
