RAPID CITY - Rapid City Stevens' Katelyn Belzer did something not many golfers have done this year on the golf course - defeat Paige Osterloo.

The Raider junior fired a 43 to edge her senior teammate by one stroke as the four-day All-City tournament against Rapid City Central came to an end at the Arrowhead County Club.

"The wind was really brutal out on the course, but I thought the girls handled it really well," said Stevens head coach Phil Hunt. "You just never know what kind of tricks Mother Nature has up her sleeve this time of year," said Hunt.

Stevens shot a 180 Thursday and compiled 704 strokes over the four days.

Central did not field a full team due to some prior commitments.

The Raiders had two other golfers break 50 as Erin Cheever had a 45 and Molly Webster added a 48. Molly Rezich added a 51, Kate Knigge had a 61, Amanda Nielsen registered a 56 and Sydney James finished with a 65 as Stevens closed out its regular season.

Central's Lindsey Evans had a 58 and Azure Rodriguez had a 74.

The Raiders and Cobblers will finish with the state "AA" tournament in Mitchell on Monday and Tuesday.

"We played five courses in the last week," said Hunt. "I said early in the year that we needed to get some tournament experience and I thought we were able to do that over the season, we should be near the top when it's all done."

The tourney begins Monday at 9 a.m. MDT at the Lakeview Golf Course. Play will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
