The fourth-ranked Newell girls basketball team outscored Philip, 38-17, in the first half and cruised to a 63-39 win over the Lady Scotties in the championship game of the West River Tournament on Saturday.

Trohkimoinen led the Irrigators (18-1 overall) with 20 points,
while also pulling down seven rebounds. Mandi Durch added 16
points, while Monica Deighton, who was voted the tournament's most
valuable player, added 14 points and a team-high 15
rebounds.
Philip's Sierra Hook had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lady Scotties (15-4).
FAITH 45, WALL 39: Faith had three players in double figures on Saturday, helping the Lady Longhorns to a third-place finish at the West River Tournament.
Hanna Brown had 15 points, Taylor Shoemaker added 11 and Callie Bernstein had 10 in Faith's 45-39 win over the Eagles (12-6 overall). The win improved Faith to 10-9 on the season.
Madison McLaughlin led Wall with 20 points and 20 rebounds.
EDGEMONT 45, MOORCROFT, WYO., 35: The Edgemont girls basketball team notched its ninth win of the season, using a 25-19 second-half run to pull away for a 43-35 win over Moorcroft, Wyo., for fifth place in the West River Tournament on Saturday.
The Moguls (9-11 overall) led just 18-16 at halftime before pulling away in the second half. Lacy Stevens led Edgemont with 11 points, while Kristi Porter added nine. Chyla Koller and Josie Thomsen each had a team-high nine rebounds.
HOT SPRINGS 54, UPTON, WYO., 44: Four players reached double figures on Saturday, helping the Hot Springs girls basketball team to a 54-44 win over Upton, Wyo., for seventh place in the West River Tournament on Saturday.
The Bison (4-14 overall) led 30-24 at halftime and outscored Upton, 24-20, in the second half to pull away. Randi Weiss and Amy Tierney each had 13 points to pace the Bison's attack, while Sandra McPherson and Sarah Geiser each contributed 10.
Kristi Kidd scored 17 points to lead Upton, while Kristi Dysart added 15 points.
MILLER 51, CROW CREEK 31: Kelsey Hunter scored 14 points and had four rebounds to lead Miller to a 51-31 win over Crow Creek on Saturday in girls basketball action.
McKinsie Simons chipped in with 12 points and Marisa Blackwell had a team-high eight rebounds to lead the Rustlers (10-8 overall). Miller, which shot 31 percent from the floor for the game, used a 19-7 first-half run to put away the Lady Chieftains.
Sienna Lengkeek had nine points to lead Crow Creek, which shot 30 percent from the floor.
