BROOKINGS - The South Dakota Golf Association Women's Mid-Amateur and Senior Championships began Saturday at Brookings Country Club
Sioux Falls' Anne Borgmann, who has a record 14 SDGA titles, is leading the Senior after an opening-round 82. She has won the tournament a record 12 times.
Sioux Falls' Lisa Meritt shot 78 and is leading the Mid-Amateur.
In the Senior Championship, Aberdeen's Helen Plumage (84) is in second while Rapid City's Arlys Kraft shot 86 and is in third. Brookings' Jan Benning (87) and Harrisburg golfer Pat Frick (88) round out the top-5.
Defending champion Karen Rohde of Brandon opened with a 91.
In the Mid-Amateur Championship, Sioux Falls' Patty Coddington and Peggy Kirby are tied for second at 79. Kirby is the defending champ, while Coddington has won the tourney four times.
Rapid City's Kathryn Barrett is tied for fourth with Sioux Falls' Pam Hoiland. They both carded 83s.
Both tournaments conclude today.
