DENVER - Rapid City Post 22 picked up another win on Saturday in the Cherry Creek Tournament as they defeated the host Cherry Creek Bruins 10-2.

J.J. Johnson picked up the win by going six strong innings, allowing six hits and fanning three without walking a batter.

He received plenty of offensive support as seven of Post 22 batters had at least one hit.

Jordan Mette went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, two doubles and two runs scored.

Brock Estes and James Martin added a pair of hits for the winners now 11-3 on the year. Estes had a game-high three RBI for Rapid City. The teams traded single runs in the first inning and Cherry Creek added another run in the top of the second to take a 2-1 lead. Johnson then closed the door.

Post 22 would then close out the scoring with two runs in the second and fourth innings sandwiched around a single run in the third. They would end the game open with a four run sixth frame to gain the win via the eight-run rule.

Post 22 (3-1 in the tournament) will play again today at noon against an undetermined opponent.

Post 22 will host Sturgis at 7:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday upon returning.
