HOT SPRINGS - The Hot Springs Bison gymnastics team scored 126.8 points to win a home invitational Friday night over Stanley County, who placed second with 122.4 points.
Kadoka was third with 111.22 followed by Wall with 110.5. Both Rapid City Stevens JV and Rapid City Central JV also competed but did not have the required four gymnasts to earn a team score.
"It was a good meet for the kids," Hot Springs head coach Dana Nachtigall said. "We still had a few more falls on beam than we have liked, but overall, I'm really happy for how well they performed tonight."
Central's Courtney Crandell won the all-around competition with a score of 33.65, followed closely by Hot Springs' Carlie Weiss with 33.05. Kasey Haas of Central was third with 32.75.
Crandall also placed first on balance beam with a score of 8.4, while Weiss earned two individual event titles for Hot Springs as she placed first on floor exercise with an 8.95 and first on vault with an 8.7.
Kadoka's Skye Lindquist placed first on uneven bars with an 8.4.
Hot Springs, Stanley County, Wall and Kadoka will join Chamberlain next Tuesday as they compete at the Wall Invitational on Jan. 29.
