RAPID CITY - The 47th Little League city champion will be crowned in four divisions Saturday at Harney Little League Fields in Rapid City.

The eight winners from Thursday's semifinal games play at Harney on Saturday, beginning with Division IV at 11:30 a.m. and concluding with Division I - the highest level of players - at 7 p.m.

The tournament involves approximately 300 boys with all nine Canyon Lake teams still alive to advance to the finals heading into Thursday's action.

The crowning of city champions marks the end of the regular season for the Little League teams. All-star teams will then be selected and a double-elimination tournament will take place with the winner advancing to Indianapolis, Ind.

In Indianapolis, South Dakota will face teams from Iowa, Minnesota and other surrounding states for the right to advance to Williamsport, Virginia. A pair of Rapid City teams - Canyon Lake and Harney - have advanced to the finals in the last four years, but neither team has been able to punch its ticket to the Little League World Series.
