The Rapid City Rush picked up its second win of the Central Hockey League season Sunday in Wichita, Kan., with a 4-2 victory over the Thunder in a Northwest Division clash.
The two teams wasted no time in making sure the scoring lamps worked, as they put a combined five goals on the scoreboard in the opening period. Les Reaney, Gio Flamminio and Chris Lipsett all scored for the Rush as it took a 3-2 lead into the second period.
Rapid City's Rich Hansen tacked on a shorthanded goal in the third period for the final margin. Reaney, Lipsett and Paul Holder each had two assists for Rapid City
(2-1-4 overall) which is in second place in the Northwest Division with eight points. The Rush will play at Amarillo on Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
The Thunder are 3-5-0 and in third place in the Northwest.
