RAPID CITY - The deadline for registering for the 24th Black Hills Senior Games is Sunday. Early registration is $12 until Sunday. Late registrations will be $18 and accepted until the start of the games on Wednesday except for badminton, tennis and pickleball.
Participants are grouped into five-year age brackets starting at 50-54 and ranging up to 90-plus. Contestants can compete in tennis, golf, horseshoes, swimming, track and field, health walk, ping pong, shuffleboard, pickleball, badminton, basketball (free throw and field goal shooting), volleyball, rope skipping, bowling, racewalking, 8-ball pool, spin casting, accuracy fishing contest and five different card games.
Social events include a barbeque picnic and the awards banquet.
Registration forms are available at fitness centers, indoor tennis clubs, golf courses, YMCA, senior centers throughout the Black Hills and in the May issue of the Senior News.

Athletics edge Drillers, 8-5, late Wednesday
RAPID CITY - Daryl Deneke threw four innings and drove in three runs to lead the Athletics to a 8-5 win over the Drillers on Wednesday night in Black Hills Amateur League baseball at McKeague Field.
Deneke delivered a two-run single in the first inning and a RBI fielders choice in the fourth to help his own cause. Teammate Jeff Dufek was 3-for-5, while Jay Merrigan, Scott Benson and Blaine Williams each delivered a pair of hits as the A's finished with 13 hits.
Premier Prospect camps planned at St. Thomas More
RAPID CITY - The Black Hills Premier Prospect girls and boys basketball camps are being held this summer at the St. Thomas More and St. Elizabeth Seton gymnasiums.
The boys camp for students in second through 12th grades will be held from June 23-25 at St. Thomas More.
The girls camp will be held on July 14-16 at St. Thomas More for the same ages and a kindergarten through third grade camp for boys and girls will be held Aug. 4-6 at Seton.
