Wheelersburg, Ohio, Little League defeated Canyon Lake 13-2 at the 2009 Central Region Little League Softball Tournament in Carthage, Mo. on Monday.

"The girls are a little tired," said Canyon Lake manager Geno Willuweit.

"The last two teams we played (Indiana and Ohio) are pretty tough and they both should be in the running to win the regional and advance on to Portland, Ore."

The Ohio team had lost once in their last 40 games.

With the loss, the young Canyon Lake squad was eliminated from the tournament with an 0-4 mark in pool play.

Sydney Bodensteiner started on the mound and Emily Farquhar and Allison Ainslie had a run and a hit apiece for Canyon Lake.

"The girls did a very good job of playing ball down here," said Willuweit. "They learned a lot and I am proud of them."
