FARGO, N.D. - Lead golfer Lance Collins, a freshman at South Dakota State, placed sixth in the Erv Kaiser Invitational, which concluded Sunday at Fargo Country Club.
Collins carded an 82 at Oxbow Country Club in Fargo on Friday, followed that with a 75 at Meadows Golf Course in Moorhead, Minn., on Saturday, before closing with a 74 at Fargo Country Club on Sunday. He had a 231 total.
Lee Cavanagh of North Dakota State won the event with a 221 (70-75-76).
The North Dakota State "B" team took the title with a 921 total (304-319-298). NDSU "A" was second at 941 (302-318-321) and
SDSU was fourth with a 947 (321-309-317).
Sturgis' Brad Shetler finished 13th while competing for the University of Mary. He carded rounds of 75, 82 and 79 for a 236 total. The Marauders took seventh as a team with a 984
(314-335-335).
