STURGIS - Rapid City Stevens defeated Sturgis, 9-0, in Tuesday's varsity boys tennis dual in Sturgis.

The Raiders won all six singles and three doubles matches. Billy Paluch, in No. 1 singles, defeated Zac Israelson by a 10-0 count. Jimmy Doyle (No. 2) defeated Thomas Nettleton, 10-4, to give Stevens a 2-0 edge.

No. 3 singles play featured Gib Moyle, who claimed a 10-0 triumph over Robbie Kocer.

J.J. Shultz ended the No. 4 singles match when he defeated Bennett Prosser 10-2.

The No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches ended in 10-0 victories for Rapid City. Stephan Tibbles defeated Eric Teachout in No. 5; Cody Eslinger toppled Sean Bestgen in No. 6 singles.

Paluch and Doyle teamed up for a 10-0 win over Israelson and Nettleton in No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 doubles match ended with Moyle and Shultz downing Kocer and Bestgen, 10-0.

Tibbles and Eslinger ended the dual by posting a No. 3 doubles triumph. They bested Prosser and Teachout by a 10-1 count.

Nine junior varsity matches complemented the dual, with Stevens winning each.
